Santa Maria del Cami
A trip to the Sunday market
ACTIVITIES
Colourful and in the heart of the action.
Santa Maria del Camí is a municipality in the northwest of the Balearic Island of Majorca with around 8,000 inhabitants.
It is the hub of Majorcan craftsmanship and traditional winegrowing areas such as the Macia Batle winery; impressive and traditional from Santa Maria to Binissalem.
The municipality consists of old stone fincas with a nostalgic village centre. The stunning Coanegra Valley is popular with hikers. And for those who are just looking for an easygoing walk, the first section of the trail is ideal. Every Sunday between 9 am and 1:30 pm, this sleepy little village is transformed into a bustling market town.
At over 500 different market stalls, regional products such as fish, sausages, cheese and wine are offered alongside flowers, fruit and vegetables. Several stall exhibitors offer fabrics, shoes, handbags, jewellery and much more.
